The ‘Gouden Noot’ jury nominated two of our designs for the final round of this renowned packaging innovation competition. The FLEXA Creations Color Testers and the Ultimaker 2 Go packaging, are amongst the 10 finalists. On November 2, our team will present the two innovations in front of the jury. Thereafter, the jury will announce who takes home the bronze, silver or gold award at the official award ceremony at the Evoluon in Eindhoven on November 24.
The FLEXA Color Testers allows customers to try out different paint colors on their home’s walls and help them find a color scheme and style that best suits their taste and interior. The applicators are available in a range of 35 shades, with each pack containing 30 ml of paint. Unique is the integrated mini paint roller that ensures an easy application and a truly representative result. In spite of their considerable differences, our team managed to find one solution that suits the Benelux, French and English market and even works well in online retail channels.
The Ultimaker 2 Go is currently one of the most powerful little printers around, great for makers on the go. Our packaging concept lets the machine fully live up to its name. The core of our solution is an elegant, grey EPP box that plays two roles. First it protects the printer during transport from factory to user. After unboxing, it doubles as a lightweight and shock resistant carry-case, held together by durable nylon straps for lifting and transport. Once at its destination the printer is ready for use in no time. Earlier this year The Dieline awarded our packaging design with the Editor’s Choice Award 2016.
‘De Gouden Noot’ is a Dutch packaging innovation contest. Organizer NVC’s (the association of Dutch packaging experts) goal is to stimulate innovation in packaging and packaged products. The award is named after the unique solid golden walnut trophy that represents sustainable, effective and innovative packaging. The finalists of De Gouden Noot 2016 will be exhibited on the NVC stand at Interpack 2017 in Dusseldorf, Germany.
