We are happy to introduce the talented designers and engineers that were added to our team lately. This is design engineer Marije van Zwet.
What did you do before joining us? I studied Industrial design engineering in The Hague. Besides working for FLEX, I work one day a week at SWA (a social employment facility in Alphen aan de Rijn) where I design and engineer point-of-sale displays.
Why did you become a design engineer? I like the combination of creativity and technology. I have always been eager to learn how stuff works and I enjoy making products that work flawlessly.
What will you add? Enthusiasm, working hard and team spirit!
Why did you choose for FLEX? I got to know FLEX during my studies. I met Jeroen at a seminar of the Dutch Patent agency where we were both speaking. I talked about my graduation project and that caught Jeroen’s interest. Unfortunately FLEX didn’t have any job openings at that time but I was happy to learn that Jeroen still remembered me when they were looking for a design engineer.
What do you like to do outside work? You can find me on or near the field hockey pitch. I coach a team of young players and organize two summer camps, besides competing on the court myself. When there’s some time left, I enjoy DIY jobs around my home.
