We’re proud to announce that the concepts we developed for the ‘Open IDEO Challenge’ are shortlisted for the next round! Of 443 ideas only 31 are selected for the final idea round. The challenge was to come up with solutions that ensure children in low-income communities to thrive in the early years of their lives.
Designers Abke and John, together with our two interns Markus and Cesare, helped Maurizio Bricola developing his rough ideas into concepts. Bricola is Technical Advisor Solutions and Innovations at the International Institute for Communication and Development in The Hague and asked for our help in this challenge.
His idea was to rethink packaging (chips bags, boxes, plastic bottles, etc.) as to provide information about nutrition and child development to parents, to be assembled into toys that stimulate children cognitive development and to bring communities together.
We created three different concepts. Please go to the Open IDEO website to learn more about these solutions and the process. Don’t forget to ‘applaud’ for the project. It will help us to move to the ‘top idea round’, which is announced in a few weeks!
