We’re proud that the GIO-jury rewarded two of our designs with a GIO 2020 (Dutch equivalent for Excellent Industrial Design): the Smart Allocation System for security lanes at Schiphol Airport and Mimic‘s innovative bottle-feeding concept. We enjoyed collaborating with our clients on both projects, facing quite different challenges. Amsterdam Airport Schiphol is continuously investing in innovation to improve its security processes to offer travelers and airliners the safest and most passenger-friendly service. Schiphol’s R&D and IT departments asked us to collaborate with them on optimizing the allocation of passengers to individual security desks. The result is the Smart Allocation System. It guides passengers towards the ‘quickest’ free desk by connecting a variety of sensors, algorithms, physical components, and user interfaces. 

Together with the Mimic team, we developed an innovative concept to unburden parents when bottle-feeding their baby. The patented cup-system ensures the perfect dosing, ease of use (easy and quick preparation), and helps to avoid bothersome cramps for the baby. Mimic’s name refers to mimicking the breastfeeding experience, which ensures pleasant, intimate feeding without the risk of drawing a vacuum.
