Stainless steel to plastic
Remia’s sauces are used in fast-paced, high-volume settings where consistency, hygiene, and ease of use are critical. They approached FLEX/design to develop a plastic-based dispenser that could match the performance, robustness, and user experience of stainless-steel systems. While stainless steel is durable, its extraction, processing, and machining are energy-intensive. Using plastic made it possible to achieve the same functional performance with a lower material and production impact.
From single-use to refill
As regulations place increasing pressure on single-use packaging formats, hospitality businesses are looking for more sustainable ways to serve sauces. With the SaucePro dispenser, Remia offers an alternative that is easy to use, easy to refill and impacts the workflow as little as possible.
Concept
Technical yet intuitive
We turn technical complexity into products that are clear, functional, and visually restrained. For SaucePro, this meant designing and engineering a large, mechanically complex dispenser assembly that performs reliably at scale without compromising ease of use or appearance. Through a carefully engineered dosing mechanism, the dispenser delivers precise portions and resets quickly for fast, repeated operation. The result is a robust, market-ready system that hides its complexity behind a simple and confident interaction.

From sketch to snackbar
Our collaboration with Remia began with a strategic workshop to map out ambitions and requirements. Through rapid in-house prototyping, we developed and validated concepts using dispensing tests to ensure flow consistency and ease of use. After establishing a robust proof of principle, we translated the design into a fully engineered product. Working with our production partner, FPI, we developed the initial moulds and refined the "First Out of Tool" components. These final optimizations, driven by user feedback and production testing, ensured a dispenser built for both performance and manufacturability.
