At the 60th edition of the Red Dot Product Design Awards we got recognition for one of our designs; this time for the Air Max Ambiance. It brings entrepreneurial success for our client Bison International and an elegant looking moisture absorber for the consumer.
After 20 years, Bison’s blue-white moisture absorber has a more elegant family member. The Air Max Ambiance has a lamp-like design and fits in every interior. We developed a new air circulation system, which indirectly guides the air through small openings on each side of the product, enabling this shape. Besides this aesthetic benefit, it also ensures a more effective absorption capacity. The moisture absorber comes in two sizes and in neutral colors; white and grey. The reservoir with spout enables consumers to pour the moisture out easily and without spilling. It prevents the risk of nasty stains that the original model often caused.
Thanks to the introduction of the Air Max Ambiance, Bison’s moisture absorber sales increased 25%. It leads to sales in new countries (France, Spain and South-America), and opens the door to new distribution channels like food-retail in France and drugstores in Germany and Austria. The higher priced newcomer with relatively low production cost ensures a significantly higher contribution to growth in turnover.
A jury of designers, respected design professors and journalists judged the almost 5000 submissions from 56 countries. Just like 12 times before, we managed to get a Red Dot Product Design Award. The official award ceremony will be at the Alto Theater in Essen, Germany on June 29, 2015.
